Meet Sean, our SEMA approved inspector who has over 40 years of experience. He will perform comprehensive inspections and assess each part of the system, outlining any parts that need service or repair to keep you compliant. Sean can also conduct pre-installation surveys in your warehouse to guarantee the perfect storage system for your needs.

- We inspect any size site, from multiple sites to just a couple of bays
- Sean will come out to your site to perform a detailed assessment of all your systems
- He will create a report and categorise all issues found according to the SEMA code of practice
- You will have a record of your annual inspection

Health and Safety
Legal requirements:
- The Health and Safety Executive Guide to Warehousing and Storage – HSG76 – states the need for racking inspections in your warehouse
- Racking must be inspected regularly under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER (Provision of Use of Work Equipment Regulations) 1998
- Applies to all businesses, even those with a single bay of racking
Inspection frequency and guidelines:
- Regular inspections are mandatory
- Follow SEMA Guidelines for conducting pallet racking and shelving surveys
- Annual inspections should be performed by a competent person – Sean is the man for the job
Additional safety measures:
- Introduce daily and weekly checks by trained staff (PRRS – Person Responsible for Racking Safety)
- SEMA offers a Rack Safety Awareness Course for your PRRS
We can inspect all types of racking
SEMA Code of Practice
Racking damage is recorded using a simple traffic light system. This helps to prioritise Risk and Need for Action.
Green Risk -
- Minor damage within the SEMA allowable limits
- No remedial action is necessary
- Continue to monitor the issues at subsequent inspections
Amber Risk -
- Damage exceeding allowable limits requiring action or repair
- Offload the affected location or component as soon as possible
- The area is not to be utilised until rectification has taken place
- No action taken within one month escalates to RED RISK status
Red Risk -
- A high degree of damage well beyond allowable limits
- Immediate offloading is required of the affected locations
- A RED RISK notice will be issued on site
